MATH: We have been working on multiplication of multi-digit numbers, and most students have been doing pretty well with the concept. We will continue to work on this, as mastery of multiplication facts is really a concept that students will need as they continue into Middle School and High School.
Math: Students will be working on multiplication and division of numbers through thousands.
Math: We will be reviewing math concepts to prepare for the MAP tests. April 13-17 will be MAP testing through Wednesday, and then we will have a unit over multiplication and division of numbers through thousands.
MATH: Still working on geometric skills. Will focus on 3-D figures, area and perimeter, coordinate graphing, angles and their measurements, etc.
MATH: We will continue to work on geometric concepts….reflections, translations, rotations, angles and measurements, geometric grids, etc.
Math: Our unit for the next couple of weeks will be geometry. We will cover symmetry, polygons(types and characteristics of), angles and their measurements, lines, rays, line segments, planes, rotational symmetry, “flips, slides and turns”, area and perimeter. WHEW!!!!!
MATH: Continuing decimals. We will be adding and subtracting decimals, and changing decimals to fractions/mixed numbers.
MATH: WE WILL BE WORKING ON READING, WRITING, COMPARING DECIMALS; ADDING/SUBTRACTING DECIMALS; WRITING IN EXPANDED FORM; AND, RECOGNIZE EQUIVALENT FORMS OF FRACTIONS, DECIMALS, AND PERCENTS.
Math: Finished counting money, and counting change. Overall, students did a fairly good job over money! This week we will be working on telling time and identifying elapsed time.
Math: We will be working on counting money and determining change from $10.00; telling time to the minute and solving problems involving elapsed time.
